Occasionally Xochitl is heard using words in a way that makes one wonder just exactly what she thinks they mean.
For instance "brave." The word comes up quite often as lately there has been a lot of talk of monsters, witches, darkness, nightlights, scary dreams and the like. However, the other day she ran into the house after school, took off her hat, coat, and shoes, put each away in its proper place, and asked, "Was I so brave to do that?"
Then this morning she was busy playing in her kitchen. Handed me an overflowing pot: "I've been working so hard cooking up this big meal. It's just awful. Here you go!"
